This is a male Stripe-tailed hummingbird, originally photographed by Michael & Patricia Fogden. Their preferred habitat is forested mountains from the Chiapas into Guatemala, the Honduras and Nicaragua.9 The artist has reinterpreted the environment that surrounds and sustains the hummingbird... as a noble tapestry of reds tinged with fuchsia, burgundy and violet accented in gold and hunter green.
